Bid integrity

Bid integrity

Review how timed auctions can keep bidder eligibility, retractions, reserve changes, support holds, closeout rules, and seller actions visible before connected auction services exist.

Bidder Eligibility

  • High-value auctions should show whether an account can bid before the buyer enters a top bid.
  • Eligibility can consider account standing, completed purchases, open reports, verification state, category limits, and recent retractions.
  • Buyer-facing language should explain the next step without exposing private risk signals.

Retraction Review

  • Bid retractions need reason, time remaining, current price impact, seller impact, buyer history, and support owner.
  • Allowed reasons should stay narrow: mistaken amount, seller-changed terms, or documented listing error.
  • Repeated retractions can limit future bidding until support review is complete.

Reserve Changes

  • Seller reserve changes should be blocked after meaningful bidding begins unless a support-reviewed correction is required.
  • Reserve history needs old value, new value, timestamp, owner, buyer notice status, and rollback note.
  • Public auction pages should keep reserve state clear without showing private seller strategy.

Closeout Holds

  • Auction closeout can pause when the winning account has a payment-review gap, support case, policy hold, or hub evidence mismatch.
  • Hold copy should tell the buyer what is pending and tell the seller whether handoff can continue.
  • Timed closeout, instant buy, and support holds should share the same order timeline after the auction ends.

Seller Cancellations

  • Seller cancellation requests need item proof, buyer impact, bid count, time remaining, repeat behavior, and support decision.
  • Late cancellations can affect seller rating, visibility, and future auction limits.
  • Buyer notices should preserve the item snapshot, bid status, and comparable listing path.

Owner Approval

  • Launch approval should cover bid increments, top-bid rules, retraction reasons, reserve-change limits, closeout holds, and cancellation policy.
  • Support, trust, seller operations, finance, and customer experience owners should each approve their part of the auction workflow.
  • Rollback should pause new auctions while preserving bid history and order records.

Current demo state

Bid integrity is represented as review data.

The demo shows bidder eligibility, retraction review, reserve changes, closeout holds, seller cancellation review, and owner approval without placing connected bids.

Future platform state

Auction rules need enforceable controls.

Launch needs account eligibility, bid authorization, event logging, support permissions, seller notices, order closeout, payment review, appeal history, and rollback controls.
