Price alerts
Track saved searches, watched item targets, auction thresholds, local pickup matches, and seller drop alerts without turning the marketplace into noisy spam.
Track This Price Target
Create a browser-local alert for retro handheld matches under the target price. It will appear in saved search, saved center, account activity, and this alert center.
Saved Search Alerts
- Saved searches should alert on fresh matches, price drops, new pickup options, and category-specific proof updates.
- Each alert needs the original query, category, price band, distance, handoff choice, and last matched item.
- Buyers should be able to pause, edit, or run the search directly from the alert.
Watchlist Targets
- Watched listings can carry a target price, buy-now threshold, seller offer threshold, or back-in-stock trigger.
- Targets should stay close to listing proof, condition, seller rating, and fulfillment choices so buyers compare more than price.
- Expired, sold, or removed listings should suggest similar items instead of sending buyers into a dead action.
Auction Thresholds
- Auction alerts should cover outbid state, reserve met, ending soon, top-bid ceiling, and won or lost outcomes.
- Urgent alerts need a clear reason and a direct path to the auction, bid history, or checkout review.
- Bid alerts should respect quiet hours unless the buyer opted into urgent auction notices.
Local Pickup Matches
- Pickup alerts should explain the hub, pickup window, item size, proof state, and whether local handoff is available.
- Nearby match alerts should avoid exposing private addresses and use hub or city-level location cues.
- Large-item alerts should include handoff needs before the buyer commits to an offer or cart review.
Seller Drop Alerts
- Followed sellers can notify buyers about new shelves, bundle opportunities, timed drops, and category restocks.
- Seller alerts should be easy to mute from the seller page, account preferences, and inbox.
- Low-quality listings, open reports, or restricted items should not be pushed as seller alerts.
Quiet Hours
- Non-urgent price drops, seller drops, and saved-search matches should wait until the buyer's active hours.
- Urgent bid and pickup notices need separate consent from ordinary marketplace alerts.
- Quiet-hour behavior should show delayed, sent, failed, muted, and action-needed states for review.
Privacy Boundary
- Alert preferences should not expose private addresses, sensitive support notes, or hidden seller review history.
- Current demo alerts are static account examples and do not send external messages.
- Preference exports should show alert choices without revealing private messages or report documents.
Owner Approval
- Owners should approve alert types, urgent overrides, quiet-hour rules, seller drop limits, and delivery health before launch.
- Support should be able to see failed urgent alerts when they affect bids, pickup release, reports, or checkout review.
- Alert rules should have rollback controls so noisy or misleading notices can be paused fast.

Future platform state
Live alerts need account-linked delivery and abuse controls.
A launched marketplace needs verified accounts, alert storage, event triggers, delivery providers, quiet-hour logic, mute controls, consent records, support fallback, analytics feedback, and rollback controls.
